Nikki is still looking for a new home. She is an energetic, athletic girl. She was aged at 5 yrs by our vet, so she is probably 6 years old now. She is green broke and loves attention. I got her for my husband to ride-but she is going to be too much horse for a novice rider. So now she needs to go to a home where she can continue her training and have a job. She is 15-15.2 hands and stocky built. She can turn and burn with the best of them and flat out moves. She would make an excellent sporting horse, drill horse, and even a cutting horse. She is good on the ground and respectful of your space. She will be attending a 2 day clinic with Bill and Angie in June. She is scheduled for training with them in July, once her training is complete her price will double. Here is a picture of Nikki. As you can see she is a energetic, fine looking horse. PM me if you are interested...her price is negotiable to the right home.

Ahh...a fly magnet. I have a couple of those. That picture of her by the lawn chair looks like she's holding a blanket in her mouth. Pretty cute.

Yep and she won't wear a fly mask...I did finally get her were I could put fly repellent on her face with a cloth-it took her a bit though she doesn't like the smell

Nikki has been progressing nicely in her training. As you can see we can now get a flymask on her. She has been separated from Hank and that seems to have had a positive effect on her nature. Her nickname has been changed, Bill suggested that she be given a new name before she came in for training. She is a delightful mare and will make someone a great mount.

Her current price is $800, it will go up once she has finished her training to cover training costs.

Bill has gotten Nikki saddled this week and she did well. She is a smart lady and progressing nicely in her training. Bill is building all the foundations she needs to be a competent and confident partner.

Nikki completes her third month of training at Full Circle Ranch the end of this month, she may spend October there also. She has come so very far in her journey and now needs something that I can't give her. While I have 40 years of riding experience, my body isn't up to the job anymore. Nikki has a sweet nature, but has some trust issues, we were told she was greenbroke Bill told us she was 'broken'. She does what I ask of her because she knows she is safe-he trainer comments that she is better when I am around. We talked at length about what Nikkis' next step should be. I love Nikki to pieces, but I can't ride her do to the limitations of my old body. I am more than willing to keep her as a pasture companion for the rest of the herd-but I think she deserves so much more than that. Nikki needs an experienced rider, preferably female, who has a calm/quiet nature, who wants a partnership with a horse as much as the moon. She has been ponied in the woods (she likes the woods), she loads well, the farrier can work on her now without her being on drugs, she saddles well (but is a bit cold backed), she has never bucked with the rider on, she is having her teeth done next week and her feet done in two weeks. I need help finding that person for her. Nikki comes to her new owner with three months of training with Bill and Angie, with a one-one session with her trainer to get instruction on how to handle her. Bill has also donated one weekend clinic for her and her new owner. Here is what it will cost her new owner: filling out an adoption agreement, agreeing to follow the guidelines laid out by Bill on how to handle her and attend the donated clinic, they must have the financial resources to support her, they must agree that if it doesn't work out she is to be returned to me immediately, and they can NEVER raise their hand to her (she has been abused in her past). There is a $1.00 re-homing fee. Small price to pay for a horse that will give you her heart if you give her your time and skills. So please if you know of such a person let me know.

Nikki returned to the ranch at the end of October. She enjoys her training sessions, stood like a good girl for our trimmer, and was even happy to see the vet. Nikki is still looking for her special home.

Nikki is now working cattle everyday, herding cattle at roping events and even working as a pick-up horse for bull riders. She has really blossomed in her new home. She has a job and a young man who is very good with her. She is still a bit fearful on the ground, but she really trust her new rider and gives him the best she has. This is not the path I would have chosen for her, I thought she would be happy as a pleasure horse. I figured the stress of chasing cattle and arena work would bother her...who knew? Just goes to show with the right partner a horse like Nikki can overcome so much and surprise us.
