The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office has made twenty three of the horses that were seized from the Elk Creek Property available for adoption. The horses have been recovering well and their condition has improved. They need experienced horse people to adopt them as many of them have little to no training. Their temperaments, ages, conditions, and training range the full spectrum. They will available for viewing Saturday May 10th and Sunday May 11th. Applications for interested adopters are due on Monday May 12th. Come see the horses at the FerFndale Fairgrounds (off Arlington rd) from 10 am to 2 pm and at the Fortuna Rodeo grounds from 12pm to 2 pm. Some of the horses have special needs primarily due to their hoof problems. Their hooves were so overgrown that they have become misshapened and it will take routine footwork to correct the problem. The horses will be sold to the highest bidder in a closed bid auction. Bids will be accepted from pre-approved applicants May 19th through the 22nd.
