Hi and welcome to the Horse Rescue & Information Network bulletin board. I thought it might be fun for everyone (that wants to) to have an opportunity to introduce themselves, where they live, and how many horses they have. I'll go first to get the ball rolling. My name is Shelly, and I run Sunny Acres Ranch boarding and rehabilitation facility in Grandview, WA. I've been rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing horses at risk for slaughter for a little over 2 years now. You can see the horses I currently have available for adoption at www.sunnyacresranch.com/Horses.htmThanks and welcome everyone!

Hi, Welcome to everyone , we are glad you dropped by!! I am Synthia, the admin, but this board was originally designed by cherie-so it is really her board. My dad was rescuing horses as long as I can remember, my grandfather did rescues too-so it is a family tradition that I can now afford to follow I have no favorite breed, I love them all-but I do seem to collect appys (okay so they are my favorites, just don't tell Salty the Wonder horse). I have a group of horses we affectionately refer to as "Grumpy Old Horse Ranch", they are fortunate to reside at Sunny Acres Ranch. Our hope for this board is to provide a clearing house of information and a source of support. Please give any suggestions as to what you would like to see and what you need. Have a wonderful time!

Hello, My name is Pat and I live in Wyoming. I have six horses now. I have a 24 year old Morab that is my once in a life time horse. We have done just about everything a human and a horse can do. Right now we are fighting his cancer together. I have a grade horse that we got at 5 days old and raised. He thinks he is a human and is also the top dog of the herd! I have two QH, which started as one but she was pregnat when I got her. She was a broodmare and they were downsizing the herd from 26. She was #11 on the list. My last two are "rescues" from Yakima, WA. A 2 year old red roan filly and a smaller 12 year old Morgan type gelding. My dream is to rescue, rehabilitate, train horses and use them to help kids and adults learn life skills. I am here to learn and adsorb all I can about horse rescue and hopefully get a chance to start one of my own.

Hi Mary,
You might check into volunteering at a rescue near you. I am letting a volunteer work off board on a rescue horse that she wanted by doing chores. So, she got a free horse and a place to keep her. Best of luck!
