Bit O'Honey was a 3-yr-old QH filly that came to me very sick with multiple Strangles abscesses. She was the sweetest little thing and the best patient ever! She let me blanket her, give her bute paste, change her leg wraps to keep her legs warm, and take her temperature without even having to halter her. She crossed the rainbow bridge on 12/10/06, which also happened to be my birthday. My vet believes that due to the large number of abscesses on her face and head that the Strangles virus went systemic and she died from bastard strangles. She kept getting new abscesses, and was having a hard time eating because of them. I still miss her sweet face very much, and how she used to come to the gate and wait for me while I did the other chores on the ranch. Honey would have been the horse that you kept for your grandkids to ride - a lifetime family member. RIP my sweet angel. I had pulled her blanket off to take some pics, but she still had her girly pink shipping boots on. The shipping boots would not stay up around her little legs, and kept sliding down. I think she liked wearing them though.

It seems like the best have been called to heaven this past year. With horses like Honey God has a grand herd. This little girl was a dolly of a horse and Shelly loved her very much.
