Friday, April 3rd... A big Happy Birthday to our friend Jodi Tuft, who today turns (cough cough) years old. Unlike that old guy in Woodland, Jodi never puts you to sleep with a morning journal. You will not hear Jodi boasting about the many horses she helps. On a beautiful ranch in Dixon, Jodi takes horses from Tbfriends and gives them a second chance. Including a brand new foal last summer. You can take a look at Jodi below on Top Left. We hope she has an amazing day.
On Wednesday in a Northern California chat room, Jennifer8, SassyPants, LuvReno, WineOh, plus three others came together to save the life of a young race horse. The gelding had been moved to a not so nice place in Livermore, and was scheduled for euthanasia. He comes to our ranch this weekend, making the long walk up our weed infested driveway.
Also this weekend we say hello to one more gelding from Golden Gate Fields, and maybe two. Even with our No Vacancy sign lit high in the sky. We are shoulder to shoulder, hock to hock. More cold winds for this weekend. Always having fun in the boonies.
There was Paul Paul and Cope. Uncle Scott and Eclipse. Gidget and Champ. Cream Pie and Jade Beret. Horses who are loved by others all over the world. Now we have Oscar Award and Fractious Child. My goodness. Not only hundreds of e-mails, but letters in the regular mail. All sending good wishes and prayers. A poem for Oscar Award from Kylee, who is 8. An incredibly sweet letter to Fractious Child from Mary Ann, who is 74. Your kindness to our horses is overwhelming. Also a strong jolt. Better than an extra shot of caffeine from Starbucks. You make us want to do even better. Thank you for your good thoughts to our horses. For taking the time to think of us.
Enjoy your baseball is in the air Friday, and be sure to hug your horses. Marvin Gaye on the oldies station...
