Sunday, April 5th... We said hello to a shinny gelding from a race track, and his name is Seeking The Dream. I suppose we will call him Dreamie. A big Thank You to Steve at Hoofbeats for providing transportation. Tomorrow I will show you a picture.
Also up our driveway came a gelding rescued by several folks in a chat room, and he still has his racing shoes. His new name is Easter, and a big Thank You to Jennifer for providing transportation.
I have been wanting to meet Laura for months, and yesterday this wish came true.
Fractious Child had 3 shoes pulled, but the 4th remained, as he is unable to put pressure on his right hind. Your letters and phone calls concerning Child is at least 300. An e-mail from Italy. Prayers from Ireland. A special poem written just for Child, all the way from Montreal, Canada.
Oscar Award gobbles his daily supplements, but he still looks terrible. We are encouraged with the sparkle in his eyes, and Oscar is moving around so much better.
The preggo mare rescued on Friday from unspeakable conditions we have named Zoe. Out to our fast fading green grass Zoe goes, and yesterday she became best friends with the old quarter horse mare Bunny.
Uncle Scott had his feet trimmed yesterday, and he is developing arthritis in both front pasterns. No one needs to hold Uncle Scott for the farrier. So kind. The farrier says Uncle Scott makes up for all the other untrained horses on this ranch. (huh?)
Cathy and I adore little Meagan, and today she shows for the first time with Coal. The event is held in Orangevale, and we wish them both the best.
Also today there is employment at another ranch, where the big bucks are earned. The winds have quit for now, and they say rain is on the way. Delicious hot coffee is from Starbucks. On sale at Raleys, microwave pancakes made by Krusteaz. Cold orange juice from Simply Orange. The sun has arrived, and hungry horses are making noise. Enjoy your flies are beginning to hatch Sunday, and be sure to hug your horses. No doubt about No Doubt on the radio...
