Wednesday, April 29th... Earlier this year our friend Jodi rescued more than a dozen Arabians, including 10 mares. They range in age from 8 to 23, and are ready for new homes. The mares come with papers, and have not been broke to ride. You can call Jodi at 707-688-1741. These gals are free to good homes.
Tbfriends is negotiating for a multiple stakes winner to come live with us. Once a well known horse on the Triple Crown trail, he is now running in cheap claiming races.
We go from multiple stakes winner to career maiden. In case you are not aware, a maiden is a race horse who has never won. His name is Cut, and he is winless in 29 tries. Cut still has his testicles, and is said to be a sweetheart. He comes to us later today.
Okay, go ahead and say it. Cut needs to be cut.
We go from career maiden to hungry at a feed lot in Wilton. A small dark gelding with a racing tattoo. 30 cents a pound, and he too makes the long walk up our driveway today.
We go from hungry at a feed lot in Wilton to unwanted at a home in Elverta. A very cute little mare with a red stripe down her back. The mare loves kids, so we found her a new home with a family in West Sacramento. A big Thank You to Jennifer for providing transportation.
And finally (thankfully you say) we go from unwanted in Elverta to very much wanted in Winters. Our little mare Saving Grace, named after one of my favorite TV shows, is now best friends forever with Cody. Last weekend Cody lost his long time companion, and yesterday he stood patiently at his gate while waiting for Saving Grace to arrive. A big Thank You to Stephanie for providing transportation.
There are no more openings for Tbkids sessions. 28 kids on the waiting list, and we hope to secure more liability insurance so future dates can be added.
A cold Wednesday morning, and the sun is here. The Red Sox lost 9-8, but hopefully today a new streak begins. Jewel on the radio. Delicious hot coffee from Nob Hill. Enjoy your insects are taking over the world Wednesday, and be sure to hug your horses. A hot and spicy cheese enchillada kind of day...
