My 2 girls are covered with feedlot mud crud on their tummies. Hubby and I have managed to brush a lot of crud off their backs, but....there is still a LOT on their legs and tummies.
What is the best shampoo to get rid of it? It is starting to get warm enough here to tackle it and I'm wondering...should I use a medicated one?
Thanks in advance for your replies! (still a newbie)...

Baby oil, cover it with the stuff. After a few hours you can generally soap up & rinse the caked areas and get off all the crud.

I'm going to try the baby oil tomorrow. It should be warm enough to at least try it on their legs.
Thanks for the tip! I bought a HUGE bottle of baby oil at Walmart today!

I have used Viodine on horses that need a medicated shampoo. It seems to work well, and I haven't had any reactions to it from the horses I have bathed.
To get the crud off, in the past I have used a metal curry, to get the bigger chunks off, then shampoo (usually just Mane & Tail) with a rubber curry scrubbing the shampoo in.
I haven't tried the baby oil. I'll have to remember that one.
