Just a quick update on Boomer. He has been going out every Sat with myself and my cousin. We saddle him up and he gets ponied for a couple of hours. We are riding the foot hills so he has climbed, gone down hill, seen several hundred deer, crossed rivers, puddles, ice, logs and gone cross country. He gets better and stronger each week. I pony him off my cousins morgan Dakota who is gaited so he learning to really walk out. (i dont push the gait but we walk quick) I usually sit on his back when we get back home and he is coming along really well. I am pleased with the progress we are making and I really think he is going to be a really good trail horse. He is a quick learner and trusts people so I am really excited to watch him grow and learn.

WELL HERE IS A LITTLE UPDATE ON BOOM. THE VET CAME OUT LAST WEEK TO DO VACCINES AND DO A YEARLY CHECK UP. HIS ASSISTANT COMMENTED HOW WELL BEHAVED BOTH MY HORSES WERE. "THE BEST THEY HAD SEEN IN A COUPLE WEEKS" SHE SAID. MORGAN (MY HOTTIE VET) SAID IF YOU DONT LOOK BELOW THE KNEES BOOMER HAS MADE A FANTASTIC TRANFORMATION FROM A YEAR AGO WHEN HE FIRST ARRIVED. I ASKED ABOUT THE CLUB FOOT AND HE TOLD ME JUST KEEP HIS FEET DONE AND HE SHOULD STAY SOUND. MY POOR CROOKED LEGGED COLT. CROOKED KNEE, CLUB FOOT, PIGION TOED AND COW HOCKED ON THE REAR. (NOT COW HOCKED WHILE WALKING BUT ONLY STANDING, PROBABLY A RESULT OF BEING STARVED AS A COLT.) MORGAN WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH HIM AND HIS BEHAVIOR. COULD HAVE CARED LESS ABOUT THE SHOTS AND HAVING HIS EARS CHECKED. GDUB HAD HIS CANINES FILED DOWN AND A FLOAT ALSO. I LOVE MY PONIES THEY ARE SUCH GOOD BOYS!

I used to take care of a polo pony with a club foot. It did not bother her in the least. I'll bet Boomer's never gives him a bit of trouble.

THANKS CAT I NEED ALL THE RE-ASSURANCE I CAN GET. I PROBABLY WORRY WAY TO MUCH ABOUT IT. IT WOULD BREAK MY HEART IF THIS LITTLE GUY WAS UNSOUND.

I used to have a Standardbred that had a club foot. I just kept shoes on her front feet and she never had an unsound step!

He looks wonderful! In the first picture, he looks like he is winking at the camera. LOL Are you in Colorado? Those mountains in the background are gorgeous!
